Frenzy in China over AD investigations

The Chinese market is in a frenzied state since official announcement was made on May 20 that the government will start investigations on safeguard measures for steel imports. This is causing a stir in China where prices continue to skyrocket and Chinese steel mills are trying to file anti-dumping action on hot coil, galvanized, tinplate and color-coated steel. Provisional safeguard measures take effect May 24, 2002 when the Chinese government will apply import quotas on 11 categories of steel products that include:
Hot Rolled Plate (commercial grade)
Flat Products (commercial grade)
 HRC/Sheet
 CRC/Sheet
 CGI/Sheet
 PPGI/Sheet
Silicon Steel
Steel Strip (commercial grade)
Stainless Steel
Wire Rod (commercial grade)
Bars (commercial grade)
Section (commercial grade)
Seamless Pipe
Welded Pipe
Semis Products
