In the first four months of this year, Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey, the country's main trading partner, amounted to 39,377 metric tons, decreasing by 67.8 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The revenue generated by these exports came to $14.5 million, down 67.3 percent from the year-ago figure, indicating that the country's average export price for ferrous scrap to Turkey in the period in question was $368/mt, up from $362/mt in the corresponding period of 2011.
Meanwhile, in the given period Georgia's ferroalloy exports to Turkey tripled as compared to the January-April period of 2011, reaching 9,433 metric tons.
