German crude steel output down 10.2 percent in January

In January this year, Germany’s crude steel output decreased by 10.2 percent year on year to 2.93 million metric tons, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl).

In January, the country’s pig iron output amounted to 1.96 million mt, dropping by 7.9 percent, while its hot rolled steel output decreased by 13.4 percent to 2.56 million mt, both on year-on-year basis.
