In May this year, seasonally-adjusted industrial production decreased by 1.3 percent in Germany compared to the previous month, while the corrected figure for April showed an increase of 0.5 percent compared to March, according to the provisional data of the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
As compared to April, in May this year production excluding energy and construction decreased by 1.8 percent, while the production of capital goods narrowed by 3.9 percent and output of consumer goods was up by 0.5 percent. Meanwhile, the production of intermediate goods decreased by 0.3 percent, while energy production increased by 3.9 percent and construction output saw a fall of 0.9 percent, all month on month.
