Germany's passenger car output down 3.1 percent in March from February

In March this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market totaled 323,000 units, up 29.05 percent month on month and remaining stable year on year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the first three months of this year, Germany's new passenger car registrations increased by four percent year on year, totaling 791,500 units.
 
According to the VDA, in March of the current year 516,100 passenger cars rolled off production lines in Germany, which represents a month-on-month decrease of 3.1 percent and a year-on-year decline of seven percent. German passenger car output in the January-March period of this year amounted to 1,462,100 units, showing a one percent drop compared to the same period of last year.
 
In March this year, a total of 396,300 passenger cars were exported from Germany, down by 1.8 percent month on month and decreasing by eight percent compared to March last year. In the first three months of the current year, German passenger car exports amounted to 1,107,900 units, declining by four percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
