Germany's passenger car output up 2.8 percent in August from July

In August this year, new passenger car registrations in the German market totaled 245,076 units, down 12.1 percent month on month and increasing by eight percent year on year, according to the data released by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA). Meanwhile, in the January-August period of this year, Germany's new passenger car registrations increased by six percent year on year, totaling 2,257,800 units.
 
According to the VDA, in August of the current year 422,000 passenger cars rolled off production lines in Germany, which represents a month-on-month increase of 2.8 percent and a year-on-year rise of 25 percent. German passenger car output in the January-August period of this year amounted to 3,861,000 units, showing a two percent growth compared to the same period of last year.
 
In August this year, a total of 324,400 passenger cars were exported from Germany, down by 2.7 percent month on month and increasing by 20 percent compared to August last year. In the first eight months of the current year, German passenger car exports amounted to 2,943,200 units, up by one percent year on year.
