In the second quarter of this year, world stainless crude steel output increased by 7.8 percent quarter on quarter to 14.76 million mt, while in the first half of the year it decreased by 1.7 percent year on year to 28.4 million mt, according to the preliminary report released by the International Stainless Steel Forum (ISSF).
According to the ISSF data, in the first half this year stainless crude steel production increased by 8.2 percent in China and moved down by 14.6 percent in the Asia region excluding China and South Korea, while decreasing by 13.5 percent in the US and down by 13.4 percent in Europe, all compared to the first half of 2022.
