India’s Directorate of Trade Remedies (DTR), under Ministry of Commerce has extended antidumping (AD) duties on imports of flat base steel wheels from China for a perioid of five years, effective August 2018, a government official said on Wednesday, August 22, citing from an official notification.
He said that the antidumping duty of $613/mt would be applicable for all inward shipment of flat base steel wheels originating from China after Directorate General for Anti Dumping and Allied Duties (DGAD) conducted a review of the antidumping duty imposed in 2013 for a period of five years.
The DGAD based on review of the market and prices of shipment of the product from China noted that “flat base steel wheels is likely to enter the Indian market at dumped prices if antidumping rates already in force ceased to be in force and situation of the domestic industry is likely to deteriorate if the existing rate is allowed to lapse,” the official said quoting from the official notification.
