India’s ISWPL firms up projects to ramp up rebar and wire rod capacities

Indian Steel and Wire Products Limited (ISWPL), a subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited, has firmed up expansion projects at its plant in the eastern state of Jharkhand, a company statement said on Tuesday, July 25.

The various expansion projects include increasing rebar and wire rod production capacity to 475,000 mt per year from 267,000 mt per year and ramping up galvanized iron (GI) wire capacity to 237,600 mt per year from 62,050 mt per year at present.

By usage of a water recycling plant, low-noise machinery, and state-of-the-art pollution control equipment, the company aims to achieve environment-friendly operations.

The company, however, did not disclose total investments riding on the projects or timelines for completion.
