India’s mineral production recorded a growth of 5.1 percent year on year in April this year, according to a statement issued by India’s ministry of mines on Monday, July 24.
Important minerals showing year-on-year positive growth in April this year included phosphorite 29.1 percent, magnesite 27.7 percent, iron ore 13.1 percent, limestone12.7 percent, copper concentrate 12 percent, lead concentrate 10.6 percent, coal 8.8 percent, manganese ore 6.9 percent and zinc concentrate 4.1 percent.
Minerals showing negative year-on-year growth included petroleum crude -3.6 percent, natural gas -2.8 percent, gold -8.1 percent, lignite -21.2 percent, bauxite -24.7 percent and chromite -40.1 percent.
