India’s NMDC Limited sees 5.1% rise in iron ore output in December

Indian government-run miner NMDC Limited notched iron ore production of 4.71 million mt in December 2024, up 5.1 percent year on year, according to a company statement on Thursday, January 2.

However, sales during the month declined by 6.7 percent year on year to 3.91 million mt.

During the first nine months (April-December) of the fiscal year 2024-25, NMDC Limited achieved a cumulative iron ore output of 30.77 million mt, down from 31.78 million mt in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year and sales of 31.80 million mt compared to 31.94 million mt in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
