Iron ore imports to Mexico down 8.4 percent in September

The value of iron ore imports to the Mexican steel market decreased 8.4 percent, year-over-year, to $14.1 million in September, according to a SteelOrbis analysis of data from the national statistics agency Inegi.

In the January-September period, $176.4 million were imported, a figure that represented a decrease of 43.6 percent or $136.1 million less than the same period in 2023.

In the Inegi information, there are no records of iron ore exports.
