Thursday, 20 September 2012 12:39:04 (GMT+3)   |
The Italian steel producers' association Federacciai has announced Italy's long steel and flat steel production results for the month of July this year.

Accordingly, in July Italy’s long steel output decreased for the ninth month in a row on year-on-year basis, declining by 11.3 percent to 1.05 million mt. On the other hand, in the given months, Italian flat steel output increased by 18.3 percent year on year to 1.13 million mt, partly due to production increase by Taranto-based steelmaker Ilva in preparation of the forthcoming court-mandated production halt.

As regards the first seven months of 2012, Italian long steel output decreased by seven percent to 7.53 million mt, while flat steel output increased by 4.8 percent to 9.05 million mt, both compared to the corresponding period of 2011.
