In January this year, Japanese crude steel production was up by 0.7 percent compared to the previous month, while it increased 6.1 percent year on year, totaling 9.40 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Meanwhile, in January this year Japan's pig iron production totaled 7.22 million metric tons, increasing by 2.9 percent compared to the same month last year and up 2.7 percent month on month.
