Japanese Daikin Industries will invest $121 million in second HVAC plant in Mexico

Daikin Industries, based in Osaka, Japan, with an investment of $121 million, began the construction of its second plant for the production of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in the border city of Tijuana, Baja California to serve the market. of sustainable data centers throughout North America.

The new 460,000-square-foot plant will be built in spring 2025 and will begin production in June of next year. The new plant is expected to generate 1,150 jobs, which are added to the more than one thousand jobs that the Alliance Air (subsidiary of Daikin Industries) has in Tijuana, the company reported in a press release.

According to the statement, Alliance Air began operations in Tijuana 20 years ago with only 30 employees and currently has more than 1,000 jobs and another 1,150 workers will be added next year.

The facility is being built to manufacture energy-efficient HVAC cooling solutions specifically for data centers.

Daikin Industries is a Japanese multinational conglomerate company headquartered in Osaka. It is one of the largest producers of air conditioners in the world.
