Japan’s industrial production index increases 1.6 percent in August over July

The revised data from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry show that, compared to the previous month, in August this year Japan's seasonally adjusted industrial production index increased 1.6 percent, the country's shipments of industrial output increased by 0.6 percent, while its inventory index rose 0.1 percent.

Meanwhile, compared with the same month last year, in August this year the country's industrial production index declined by 19 percent, its shipments of industrial production also decreased by 19 percent, while its inventory index fell by 10.3 percent.
