Japan’s stainless flat steel exports up slightly in Aug over July

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's stainless flat steel exports totaled 62,041 metric tons in August this year, rising by 1.45 percent month on month and down 6.6 percent compared to August 2011.
 
In the first eight months of the current year, Japan's stainless flat steel exports amounted to 529,399 metric tons, falling by 13.7 percent year on year.

In August this year, Japanese stainless flat steel exports to China totaled 12,664 metric tons, while exports to South Korea amounted to 10,744 metric tons, decreasing by 15.1 percent and 47.2 percent respectively, both compared to the same month of the previous year. In August 2012, the country's stainless flat steel exports to Thailand amounted to 9,823 mt, up 21 percent, on year-on-year basis.
