According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in January-February this year Kazakhstan registered a 40 percent increase year on year in its crude steel production and a 26.3 percent year-on-year growth in its production of flat rolled steel, rising to 792,380 mt and 511,578 mt respectively. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's tinplate production for the first two months of this year amounted to 36,479 mt - up 26.7 percent year on year, while its galvanized steel output came to 102,200 mt - up 22.6 percent year on year.
In January-February, Kazakhstan's output of ferroalloys went down by 2.3 percent year on year to 273,717 mt, its sintered and non-sintered iron ore output increased by 0.8 percent to 3.728 million mt, and its iron ore pellet production went up by 1.4 percent to 1.432 million mt, all compared to the same month last year. The country's coal output in January-February this year increased by 17.3 percent year on year to 21.11 million mt, while its coke output went up 5.4 percent year on year to 454,500 mt.
