Malaysia starts AD duty probe on CR stainless and coated steel imports

Tuesday, 28 April 2015 15:40:52 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry announced on April 28 that it launched an antidumping (AD) duty investigation on pre-painted, painted and color coated steel coil imports from China and Vietnam on March 30.

The investigation was initiated following a petition from a domestic producer claiming material injury because the imports in question were sold at a price much lower than the price in the domestic market and increased in terms of absolute quantity. The Malaysian government has determined that there is sufficient evidence of dumping, injury and causal link.

The government also announced that it has initiated an antidumping (AD) duty investigation on imports of cold rolled (CR) stainless steel from Taiwan, France, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Finland, Indonesia, South Korea and Vietnam.
