Finland-based global engineering and technology company Metso Outotec Corporation has announced that US-based miner Mesabi Metallics has placed an order worth about €10 million for beneficiation equipment for its Nashwauk direct reduction (DR) iron ore plant.

Within the scope of the order, Metso will supply its own patented Concorde CellTM flotation cells, which is essential for ensuring flotation performance of iron ore. The order also includes slurry pumps, SC vacuum filters and low intensity magnetic separators.

Mesabi Metallics is constructing an iron ore mine and a pelletizing facility with an annual capacity of seven million mt in Nashwauk, Minnesota. The pelletizing facility is scheduled to commence operations in the first quarter of 2026.
