Mexico’s economy secretariat, SE, announced on Wednesday it has eliminated a 64 percent definite countervailing duty, which was previously applied to imports of steel screws from China.
According to SE, which published its decision Wednesday at the nation’s official gazette, DOF, the company interested in the case, Prottsa, a Mexican producer, didn’t provide any further details about the alleged dumping practices on the imports of the product.
SE gave an opportunity to Protts—as well as other local producers, importers and exporters of the product that could have any interest in the case—to submit their comments, however, no company showed interest nor provided comments about the alleged dumping on the referred imports.
As a result of SE’s decision, the countervailing duty was eliminated.
