Mexico’s AHMSA reports $61 million loss in Q4

Altos Hornos de Mexico (AHMSA), the nation’s largest integrated steelmaker, reported a MXN 1.1 billion ($61.4 million) net loss in Q4, it said in a document filing at the nation’s stock exchange Bolsa Mexicana de Valores (BMV).

As for the full-year of 2015, the steelmaker posted a MXN 4.2 billion ($234.6 million) net loss. In the year prior, the company’s net loss reached MXN 680.5 million ($38.1 million).

AHMSA’s net revenues in Q4 declined 18.7 percent, year-on-year, to MXN 9.3 billion ($519.4 million). As for the company’s full-year results, revenues diminished 6.3 percent, year-on-year, in 2015 to MXN 41.1 billion ($2.2 billion).

AHMSA said steel sales volumes in 2015 totaled 3.7 million mt, a similar level when compared to 2014 sales volumes.
