Italian plantmaker Danieli has announced that it has received the final acceptance certificate for the new air-knife system installed at the existing hot dip galvanizing (HDG) line of Russian steelmaker MMK's Turkey-based subsidiary MMK Metalurji.

Danieli stated that, thanks to the modular design of the mentioned air knives, the revamping included the re-use of many parts of the existing equipment, minimizing the capital investment. The new equipment was installed during a scheduled, one-week maintenance shutdown. With the modernization, the line’s productivity has increased by approximately 10 percent due to its higher processing speed.
