Russian steel mill Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has announced that it has completed repairs and restarted operations at its wire mill 170. As a result, all three units of MMK's rolling mill shop are currently operating.

The repair works in question included the replacement of the internal lining of the mill's reheating furnace, and the repair and replacement of the mill's mechanical equipment.

MMK's wire mill 170, supplied by Italian plantmaker Danieli and commissioned in 2006, has an annual production capacity of 765,000 mt of wire rod, the main consumer of which is the company's hardware division. MMK's long product output capacity amounts to around two million mt per year.
