On November 13, China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced that during last week (November 5-11) average steel prices in China indicated a slight increase of 0.1 percent compared to the previous week.
In particular, in the given week prices of 219 mm x 7 mm seamless steel pipe, 1 mm thick cold rolled sheet and 3 mm thick hot rolled sheet increased by 0.5 percent, 0.4 percent and 0.3 percent week on week, respectively.
In addition, the prices of 12 mm diameter rebar and 6.5 mm diameter high-speed wire rod decreased by 0.4 percent and 0.3 percent respectively, both on week-on-week basis.
Meanwhile, in the week ending November 11, average prices of energy in China increased by 1.3 percent week on week. The average prices of coke and raw coal in China increased by 2.8 percent and 2.6 percent respectively in the week in question, both on week-on-week basis.
Furthermore, the average price of iron ore indicated no change on week-on-week basis in the given week, while the average price of copper ore decreased by 1.1 percent in the week in question and the average price of wolfram ore increased by 4.5 percent.
