Sheng Laiyun, spokesman at China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), has stated regarding the future economic situation for China in 2016 that no significant surges nor sharp decreases in growth are anticipated.

With the improvement seen in the process of China’s industrialization and urbanization, China’s economy still has large potential and sufficient conditions to maintain a rapid economic growth in the future, the NBS official said. Mr. Sheng stated that, if China persists in proceeding with structural reforms and supply-side reforms while also eliminating outdated and excess capacity, the country will likely maintain steady economic growth amid stable conditions.
