NBS: Local Chinese rebar prices down 2.3 percent in mid-April

In mid-April (April 11-20) this year, the average price in China of 16-25 mm HRB 400 rebar decreased by RMB 92.9/mt ($13.5/mt) or 2.3 percent to RMB 3,987.7/mt ($580/mt), compared to prices in early April (April 1-10), as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics on April 24.

In the given period, the average prices of wire rod, medium plate, hot rolled coil (HRC), seamless steel pipes and angles decreased by 2.3 percent, 1.0 percent, 1.6 percent, 0.7 percent and 2.2 percent, respectively, all compared to early April.
