Argentina produced 49,611 units (cars and light commercial vehicles) in September, 3.9 percent less than in August, according to the sector association, ADEFA.
Under the same comparative basis, exports declined by 2.6 percent to 31,918 units and domestic sales increased by 15.0 percent to 44,488 units.
On annual basis, comparing September 2024 to September 2023, the production declined by 12.6 percent, exports declined by 10.2 percent, and domestic sales increased by 2.8 percent.
When comparing the first nine months of 2024 and 2023, the production declined by 22.1 percent to 362,433 units, exports declined by 10.3 percent to 219,841 units, and domestic sales declined by 10.7 percent to 278,199 units.
ADEFA’s president, Martin Zuppi, mentioned that despite the decline in September, “we see that a floor was marked in June, and since then both production, exports and domestic sales have recorded a slow but sustained recovery”.
Zuppi highlighted the fact that the participation of exports in relation to the production has increased by eight percentage points, considering the first nine months of the year, reaffirming the sustainability of the sector historically focused on exports.
