Russia’s Severstal develops cold-formed sheet piles for many applications

Russian steelmaker Severstal has announced that it has begun the production of cold-formed steel sheet piles under the Grani brand for the use in the hydraulic structures, transport, civil construction and infrastructure sectors.

According to Severstal’s statement, one of the main advantages of this product, which is a first in the country, is that is has lower steel consumption with the help of constant profile thickness and increased width, reducing the weight of the structures in which it used by up to 30 percent and making it an optimal solution for structures with low and medium loads. Produced by the cold-forming method, the Grani brand has higher production speed and delivery. The capacity of Severstal’s cold-formed sheet pile production line is up to 60,000 mt per year.
