S. Africa issues preliminary AD on structural steel from China and Thailand

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has announced the preliminary results of its antidumping duty investigation on structural steel products including U, I, H beams and other angles) from China and Thailand.

The investigation was launched on September 20. During the review period from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024, producers from the given countries were found to have made sales of the subject products at less than normal value, causing material injury to the South African domestic industry. SARS determined dumping margins of 52.81 percent for China and 9.12 percent for Thailand.

The products fall under the HS codes 7216.31, 7216.32, 7216.33, and 7216.50.
