Shougang Jingtang steps up production at new plant

Chinese steelmaker Shougang Jingtang has announced that it has greatly improved its production levels following the two months of trial production for Phase I of its new steel plant project.

In late August (August 21-31), the mill's daily outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel were all in excess of 11,000 mt. The mill's average daily production of pig iron for this period was 11,494 mt, reaching a peak of 12,011 mt; average daily production of semi-finished steel was 11,315 mt, hitting a highest level of 12,780 mt; finally, average daily production of 2,250 mm HRC came to 11,135 mt, hitting a peak level of 12,572 mt for the period in question.
