Spain’s Acerinox aims to resume production soon at Los Barrios after end of strike

Monday, 24 June 2024 12:33:58 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

The strike that had been continuing at the Los Barrios plant of Spanish stainless steel producer Acerinox S.A. since February this year has come to an end following a compromise with workers, according to local media reports.

Media reports indicate that the workers have voted in favor of the new collective agreement presented by the company and that Acerinox has commenced preparations for resuming production. The agreement is expected to be ratified in the coming days with the aim of resuming production as soon as possible.

As SteelOrbis reported previously, after the workers and the company had disagreed on salary revision, a production bonus, flexibility, partial retirements and promotions, the workers started an indefinite strike on February 5.
