Swedish basic metal output down 0.6 percent in October from September

In Sweden, industrial production decreased by 1.3 percent in October this year compared to the previous month and fell by 0.5 percent year on year in working day-adjusted figures, according to Statistics Sweden (SCB).
 
On the other hand, the production index for the Swedish basic metal industry decreased by 0.6 percent in October this year compared to the previous month, while rising by 2.9 percent year on year. In the given month, the country's manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.7 percent month on month and was down by 1.9 percent year on year.
 
In October, new orders received by Swedish industry rose by 1.9 month on month, while they increased by six percent in working day-adjusted figures compared to October 2015.
 
In October of the current year, new orders for basic metals in Sweden increased by 6.7 percent compared to the same month of 2015, including a 17.1 percent increase in domestic orders and an 8.7 percent rise in export orders, while new orders for basic metals were up by 6.3 percent compared to September. Meanwhile, new orders received by the Swedish fabricated metal products industry, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.3 percent in October on year-on-year basis.
