Taiwan's iron and steel export value down 2.3 percent in October

In October this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports decreased by 2.3 percent year on year and increased by 0.5 percent compared to September to $1.52 billion, according to the preliminary statistics issued by Taiwan's Ministry of Finance. In the given month, the country's iron and steel import value totaled $924.07 million, up 8.7 percent year on year and decreasing by 12.4 percent month on month.
 
In the first 10 months of this year, the value of Taiwan's iron and steel exports was up 5.8 percent to $15.4 billion, while the value of the country's imports of iron and steel totaled $9.82 billion, up 5.1 percent, both on year-on year basis.
