Tesla reportedly selects Outokumpu for stainless steel supplies

Thursday, 12 October 2023 14:08:07 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

US-based electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Inc. will procure stainless steel for its Cybertruck’s body panels from Finland’s Outokumpu, according to Bloomberg, although this information has not been confirmed by either of the parties.

Sources said that Tesla may be cooperating with more than one supplier other than the Finnish company. Cybertruck is expected to go into production in the coming weeks.

Outokumpu, Europe’s largest stainless steel producer, is already working with many automakers in relation to their exhaust systems.
