Turkey’s coking coal imports down 20.5 percent in January-April

In April this year, Turkey’s coking coal imports declined by one percent month on month and rose by 64.2 percent year on year to 425,967 mt, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports increased by 9.3 percent to $138.72 million compared to the previous month and by 34.5 percent year on year.

In the January-April period of this year, Turkey’s coking coal imports moved down by 20.5 percent to 1.44 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $441.21 million, down 32.7 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 808,176 mt, while coking coal imports from the US totaled 235,395 mt.
