Turkey’s coking coal imports down 7.4 percent in January-July

In July this year, Turkey’s coking coal imports rose by 89.0 percent month on month and declined by 16.1 percent year on year to 516,317 mt, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports increased by 98.1 percent to $134.38 million compared to the previous month and dropped by 54.4 percent year on year.

In the January-July period of this year, Turkey’s coking coal imports moved down by 7.4 percent to 2.71 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $795.53 million, down 32.0 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 1,459,711 mt, while coking coal imports from the US totaled 676,242 mt.
