In October this year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports totaled 58,214 metric tons, decreasing by 0.6 percent compared to the same month of 2013 and down 22.3 percent month on month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $39.59 million, decreasing by 0.2 percent year on year and down 21.1 percent month on month.
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of this year, Turkey's CRC imports increased by 6.2 percent to 604,304 metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $413.1 million, up four percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first 10 months of the current year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 258,677 metric tons, down four percent, while Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine increased by 49.5 percent to 118,003 metric tons, both on year-on-year basis. In October alone, Russia was Turkey's leading CR coil supplier with 19,623 metric tons.
