Turkey’s HRC imports increase by 6.9 percent in January-April

In April this year, Turkey’s hot rolled coil (HRC) imports amounted to 373,970 metric tons, down by 14.4 percent compared to March and up by 9.5 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $246.72 million, decreasing by 11.3 percent compared to the previous month and rising by 2.2 percent year on year.

In the January-April period, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 1,478,901 mt, up 6.9 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 5.6 percent to $948.13 million, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest HRC import source was China, which sold 800,870 mt. China was followed by Egypt with 192,180 mt and Russia with 139,551 mt.
