Turkey's coking coal imports down 23.7 percent in January

In January this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 35.9 percent month on month to 325,679 mt, down 23.7 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports decreased by 22 percent to $102.3 million compared to the previous month and declined by 32 percent year on year.

In the given month, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 319,834 mt, while coking coal imports from Russia totaled 5,845 mt.
