Turkish construction turnover index up 10.9 percent in 2013

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has released the domestic construction sector indicators for the whole of the last year.

The turnover index in the domestic construction sector in the last quarter of 2013 decreased by 0.9 percent compared to the same quarter of 2012 and fell 5.4 percent from the previous quarter. Meanwhile, in 2013 the turnover index in the Turkish construction sector increased by 10.9 percent compared to the previous year.

Accordingly, in 2013 the production index in Turkey's domestic construction sector increased by 7.5 percent year on year, reaching 120.6 points, while the production index in building construction was up 3.4 percent year on year to 120.4 points. Meanwhile, last year the production index in Turkey's civil engineering sector rose from 98.3 to 121.4 points, increasing by 23.5 percent year on year.
