Turkish construction turnover index up 32 percent in Q1

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) has released the domestic construction sector indicators for the first quarter of this year.

The turnover index in the domestic construction sector in the first quarter of this year increased by 32 percent compared to the same quarter of 2013 and increased by 16.1 percent from the previous quarter.

Accordingly, in the first quarter of this year the production index in Turkey's domestic construction sector increased by 6.1 percent year on year to 104.2 points, while the production index in building construction was up 5.2 percent year on year to 102.1 points. Meanwhile, in the given period, the index in Turkey's civil engineering sector rose from 101.9 to 111.0 points, increasing by 8.9 percent year on year.
