Accordingly, Turkey's rate of capacity utilization, which is calculated by production value, has decreased by 14.9 point from 81.7 percent in April of 2008 to 66.8 percent in April of 2009, while it increased by 2.1 point compared to previous month.
TÜIK said that, the first reason for not working in full capacity in April 2009 was the shortage of demands in domestic market. Shortage of demands in domestic market was 55.4 percent, and in foreign market was 31.4 percent, while financial problems 3.5 percent, shortage of raw domestic materials was 3.1 percent, shortage of raw imported 1.4 percent, and labor problems was 1.3 percent.
