UK basic metal output index down slightly in Aug from July

According to a report released by the UK's Office for National Statistics (ONS), in August this year the UK's seasonally adjusted production index of manufacturing fell by 1.2 percent compared to August 2011 and was down 1.1 percent compared to the previous month, following a revised rise of 3.1 percent month on month in July this year.

Meanwhile, in the UK the seasonally adjusted production index of basic metal and metal products rose by two percent in August this year compared with August 2011 and was down 0.3 percent compared to the previous month, following a revised month-on-month rise of 6.3 percent in July.
