Ukraine’s scrap exports down 76.5 percent in January-August

In the January-August period this year, Ukraine exported 233,378 mt of scrap, down 76.5 percent year on year, with a value of $40.99 million, according to the data released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
 
According to the State Fiscal Service, no scrap was exported from Ukraine in July and August, while the country’s scrap exports amounted to 26,780 mt in June, 112,577 mt in May, 82,473 mt in April and 11,548 mt in the first quarter this year. 
 
Meanwhile, in January-August period of the current year, Ukraine’s imports of scrap increased by 8.8 percent year on year to 15,664 mt. The main suppliers were Turkey and Slovakia.
