US HRC exports up 16.0 percent in April from March

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled coils totaled 77,213 mt in April this year, up 16.0 percent from March and up 39.7 percent from April last year. By value, HRC exports totaled $80.8 million in April, compared to $67.7 million in the previous month and $55.3 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most HRC to Mexico in April with 47,583 mt, compared to 40,021 mt in March and 36,810 mt in April last year. The other top destination was Canada, with 29,319 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US HRC exports in April.
