SteelOrbis has learned that on Wednesday, May 27, a group of US wire product producers, including American Spring Wire Corporation, Insteel Wire Products Company, and Sumiden Wire Products Corporation filed antidumping and countervailing duty petitions against prestressed concrete (PC) steel wire strand from China.

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) will conduct its staff conference in this investigation on June 18 and will make its preliminary determination by July 13.

US wire product manufacturers have been successful in garnering antidumping orders against Chinese imports of several types of finished wire products in recent years, and were most recently successful in an antidumping case against Chinese threaded rod, with the DOC imposing duty margins for Chinese threaded rod producers/exporters ranging from 55.16 percent to 206 percent, as announced in April.
