According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of tin plate totaled 95,734 mt in October this year, up 18.7 percent from September and up 42.8 percent year on year. By value, tin plate imports totaled $150.82 million in October this year, compared to $125.52 million in September and $121.46 million in October last year.
The US imported the most tin plate from Germany in October, with 35,741 mt, compared to 29,060 mt in September and 25,621 mt in October last year. Other top sources of imported tin plate in October include the Netherlands, with 19,155 mt; Canada, with 10,876 mt; South Korea, with 9,827 mt; Taiwan, with 8,108 mt; Spain, with 4,223 mt; the UK, with 3,106 mt; China, with 2,855 mt; and Brazil, with 1,697 mt.
