US tool steel exports up 4.2 percent in September from August

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of tool steel totaled 8,366 mt in September this year, up 4.2 percent from August and down 11.9 percent year on year. By value, tool steel exports totaled $16.9 million in September compared to $16.5 million in the previous month and $17.9 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most tool steel to Mexico in September with 7,029 mt compared 6,645 mt in August and 6,098 mt in September last year. The other top export destination was Canada with 1,100 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 or more) for US tool steel exports in September.
