Value of China’s machinery industry imports and exports up 3.1% in Jan-May

The total value of the Chinese machinery industry’s imports and exports rose by 3.1 percent in the January-May period this year, according to China’s customs authorities.

In particular, in the given period, the value of machinery industry exports totaled $341.5 billion in the given period, up 4.1 percent year on year, while the value of machinery industry imports totaled $119.0 billion, up 0.5 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of $222.5 billion.
